Whether you call them Dutch Baby Pancakes or German Pancakes, it makes no difference, this recipe is fun, quick, and delicious, no matter what you call it. And for our family personally, either works because Bruce is of German background, whereas I am of Dutch - it's a win-win situation in our household!
This recipe has been a lifesaver since we welcomed our third child into this world only weeks ago. It's simple and quick to make, and the kids have fun choosing whichever toppings they desire, whether it's fruit, sprinkles, berry syrup, or plain old maple syrup.
- Prep Time:
- Cook Time:
- Servings: 4
Ingredients
- (4 Large) Fresh Egg Co Dozen
- (1 Cup) Whole Milk
- (1 Cup) All Purpose Flour
- (1/2 TSP) Salt
- (2 TBS) Powdered Sugar
- (To taste) Maple Syrup
- (2 TBS) Grass Fed Butter
Directions
Here's What You Do:
- Preheat your oven to 450 degrees and heat a 12" cast iron skillet for 8 minutes.
- Meanwhile, combine the room-temperature eggs, milk, flour, and salt in a mixer and blend until completely smooth - you don't want any lumps.
- Once the skillet is preheated, remove from the oven and melt the butter. Then add your mixture to the skillet and immediately place in the oven. Bake until fluffy and golden brown - about 18 minutes.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with toppings of choice - our personal favorite is maple syrup, raspberry syrup, and whipped topping. Enjoy!
